How do I get a veranda measured for my house?

If you want to progress with a veranda, we can organise our professional fitting team to do a site visit.

Do I need planning?

It depends on the size of the unit, where it sits and the property. Planning rules differ between Northern Ireland and the Republic of Ireland, so check with your council before you order.

Larger units and glass rooms, anything to the front or side of the house, and homes that are listed, protected or in a conservation area often do need permission. We talk this through at the site visit, and we recommend checking with your local council’s planning office before you order.

What’s the order process?

The order process is simple. Once we’ve confirmed the sizes and specification, we complete an order form with all the details. A deposit is taken with the order and the balance is paid when the installation starts. Lead time from order to fitting is usually 6 to 8 weeks.

What’s the installation process?

Our fitting team arrives on the agreed date. An open veranda is usually fitted in a day; glass rooms and bigger jobs take 2 to 4 days. We’ll tell you how long your job will take when we confirm the order.

What are the financing options with Apex Verandas?

We offer very competitive finance on all of our units.

Why aluminium veranda instead of wood?

No maintenance ; No upkeep or replacing parts ; Durability ; Modern and sleek design

Can they be freestanding?

Yes, the units can be fitted almost anywhere.

Does it have gutters and downpipes?

Yes all of our units have built in gutters and downpipes within the uprights

Should I choose a polycarbonate or glass roof?

Polycarbonate costs less, cuts glare and hides leaves; glass lets in the most light and is quieter in the rain. Our guide compares them in Irish weather: polycarbonate or glass veranda roof.

Is a glass room the same as a sunroom?

No. A sunroom is an insulated, heated extension; a glass room is a veranda closed in with glass sliding doors. See sunroom vs glass room.

Can you use a glass room in winter?

Yes, within limits: it keeps the wind and rain off and warms up in sun, but it is not insulated. See using a glass room in winter.
